Photography Policy
Photography at MegaCon Live
Following discussions with Excel London, we wanted to share Excel photography guidelines for this year’s event. These guidelines reflect our ongoing efforts to ensure you can enjoy your experience whilst ensuring the safety & wellbeing of others is not compromised.
- Excel London’s Photography Policy: The venue’s filming & photography policy can be found on their website. https://tinyurl.com/u4rh2n6k
- Non-Commercial Photography: We’ve worked with Excel to allow photography for non-commercial purposes related to our event to take place outside the West Entrance, around the trees, and on the Green in Royal Victoria Square. Excel London reserves the right to intervene if such usage is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or in violation of privacy or safety standards.
- Commercial Photography: If you intend to film or photograph for commercial purposes, you’ll need to apply for a permit via Excel’s website. Please note that paid photoshoots are not permitted under our event’s terms already.
- Consent and Respect: Please ensure that anyone you photograph has given their permission. When taking photos, do your best to avoid capturing people who are not involved in your shoot (e.g., those not participating in cosplay or content creation).
- Specific Requests from Excel: You are kindly requested to avoid capturing images or videos in restricted or sensitive areas, such as bathrooms, dressing rooms, back of house areas, as well as in the car parks & roadways around the venue.
- Photography Inside Our Event Halls: Our event space includes halls S2 to S5, Platinum Lower & Upper, Within the MegaCon Live halls you’re free to capture as much content as you wish! However, for safety reasons, freestanding equipment such as tripods are not permitted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy.
- Boulevard Considerations: In the Boulevard Excel security staff may request you to move along for safety and to avoid congestion as this is the main fire safety route for the venue. We kindly ask that you respect their guidance.
Finally, we’d like to remind everyone to respect others’ consent when capturing photos or videos, whether inside or outside the venue. This has always been central to our cosplay policy, and we’re grateful for your continued support in fostering a respectful and welcoming community.
